Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn

I have used:-
35 grams of Paintbox Simply DK yarn in color 1
15 grams of Paintbox Simply DK yarn in color 2
OR
1.3oz of Worsted Weight #3 yarn in color 1

0.5oz of Worsted Weight #3 yarn in color 2
3.50mm Clover crochet hook

GAUGE – 5dc and 2.5 rows measures approx 1 Inch

Pretty Crochet Bonnet

Bonnet – With color 1 ch67, 1dc in 4th ch from hook 1dc in each ch to end. Turn. (64dc + ch3)

Row 2 – ch3, (RS) 1dc in next dc, * ch1, skip 1dc, 1dc in next 2dc, fpdc around next dc, 1dc in next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to last 2dc and 3tch, ch1, skip 1dc, 1dc in next dc, 1dc in top of 3tch. Turn.

Row 3 – ch3, 1dc in next dc, * ch1, skip ch1, 1dc in next 2dc, bpdc around next dc, 1dc in next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to last ch1 space, dc and 3tch, ch1, skip ch1, 1dc in next dc, 1dc in top of 3tch. Turn.

Row 4 – ch3, 1dc in next dc, * ch1, skip ch1, 1dc in next 2dc, fpdc around next dc, 1dc in next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to last ch1 space, dc and 3tch, ch1, skip ch1, 1dc in next dc, 1dc in top of 3tch. Turn.

Row 5 – ch3, 1dc in next dc, * ch1, skip ch1, 1dc in next 2dc, bpdc around next dc, 1dc in next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to last ch1 space, dc and 3tch, ch1, skip ch1, 1dc in next dc, 1dc in top of 3tch. Turn.

Rpt Rows 4 & 5 until 9 rows have been worked in all from beginning. Fasten off.

Back Panel – With RS facing skip 24 stitches, working through BLO join yarn with a sl st to the 25th stitch, ch3, 1dc in next dc, * ch1, skip ch1, 1dc in next 5dc, * rpt from * to * once more, ch1, skip ch1 space, 1dc in next 2dc, turn leaving 23 stitches + ch3 un-worked.

Working through both loops of stitch rpt Row 5, followed by Rows 4 & 5 until you have 12 rows worked in all or back panel fits along side panels. Fasten off.

Join color 2 to where you casted off on main part.Working through the FLO of the stitch, work across row to end, (including across the back panel)Back Frill – ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, skip 1st, (1dc, ch1), 4 times in next st, followed by 1dc in the same st, (making 5dc and four 1ch spaces all in the same st), skip 2st, 1sc in next st, * skip 2st, (1dc, ch1), 4 times in next st, followed by 1dc in the same st, skip 2st, 1sc in next st, * rpt from * to * to last 2st, skip 1st, 1sc in last st. Fasten off. (11, open shell groups)

Brim – With RS facing, join color 2 to starting chain edge (front of bonnet), ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each to end. Turn. (65sc)

Next Row – Working in BLO, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, skip 1sc, (1dc, ch1), 4 times in next sc, followed by 1dc in the same sc, skip 2sc, 1sc in next sc, * skip 2sc, (1dc, ch1), 4 times in next sc, followed by 1dc in the same sc, skip 2sc, 1sc in next sc, * rpt from * to * to last 2sc, skip 1sc, 1sc in last sc. Turn. (11, open shell groups)

1st Pattern Row – ch4, * skip next dc, ch1 space and dc, work 1sc in next ch space, ch3, skip 1dc, 1sc in next ch space, ch1, skip 1dc, ch1, 1dc, work (1dc, ch1), 3 times in next sc, (making 3dc & three ch1 spaces altogether) * rpt from * to * to last sc, ch1, work 1dc in last sc. Turn.

2nd Pattern Row – ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, skip ch1, work * (1dc, ch1), 4 times, plus 1dc in next ch3 space, skip ch1, 1dc and ch1, work 1sc in next dc, skip ch1, 1dc and ch1, * rpt from * to * to last ch3 space, work (1dc, ch1) 4 times, 1dc all in ch3 space, 1sc in 3rd of ch4. Turn. Fasten off.

With WS facing sew both sides of back panel to side panels.Turn Brim back onto main part of bonnet (from where you worked in BLO)

Using color 1 and starting with ch3, work 1 row of dc stitch evenly along neck edge, catching the brim in as you go.

Tie – With color 2 ch151, 1sl st in second ch from hook, 1sl st in each ch to end. Fasten off (150sl st)

Finishing – Weave in and trim any loose ends of yarn, thread tie through alternate dc on neck edge and make a bow.
