Materials
For great results it is always best to use the recommended yarn

I have used:-
35 grams of Paintbox Simply DK yarn in color 1
15 grams of Paintbox Simply DK yarn in color 2
3.50mm Clover crochet hook

TENSION – 5tr and 2.5 rows measures approx 1 Inch

Pretty Crochet Bonnet uk

Bonnet – With colour 1 make 67ch, 1tr into 4th ch from hook 1tr into each ch to end. Turn. (64tr + 3ch)

Row 2 – 3ch, (RS) 1tr into next tr, * make 1ch, miss 1tr, 1tr into next 2tr, fptr around next tr, 1tr into next 2tr, * rpt from * to * to last 2tr and 3tch, make 1ch, miss 1tr, 1tr into next tr, 1tr into top of 3tch. Turn.

Row 3 – 3ch, 1tr into next tr, * make 1ch, miss 1ch, 1tr into next 2tr, bptr around next tr, 1tr into next 2tr, * rpt from * to * to last 1ch space, tr and 3tch, make 1ch, miss 1ch, 1tr into next tr, 1tr into top of 3tch. Turn.

Row 4 – 3ch, 1tr into next tr, * make 1ch, miss 1ch, 1tr into next 2tr, fptr around next tr, 1tr into next 2tr, * rpt from * to * to last 1ch space, tr and 3tch, make 1ch, miss 1ch, 1tr into next tr, 1tr into top of 3tch. Turn.

Row 5 – 3ch, 1tr into next tr, * make 1ch, miss 1ch, 1tr into next 2tr, bptr around next tr, 1tr into next 2tr, * rpt from * to * to last 1ch space, tr and 3tch, make 1ch, miss 1ch, 1tr into next tr, 1tr into top of 3tch. Turn.

Rpt Rows 4 & 5 until 9 rows have been worked in all from beginning. Fasten off.

Back Panel – With RS facing miss 24 stitches, working through BLO join yarn with a ss to the 25th stitch, make 3ch, 1tr into next tr, * make 1ch, miss 1ch, 1tr into next 5tr, * rpt
from * to * once more, make 1ch, miss 1ch space, 1tr into next 2tr, turn leaving 23 stitches + 3ch un-worked.

Working through both loops of stitch rpt Row 5, followed by Rows 4 & 5 until you have 12 rows worked in all or back panel fits along side panels. Fasten off.

Join color 2 to where you casted off on main part.

Working through the FLO of the stitch work across row to end, (including across the back panel)

Back Frill – Make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, miss 1st, (1tr, 1ch), 4 times into next st, followed by 1tr into the same st, (making 5tr and four 1ch spaces all in the same st), miss 2st, 1dc into next st, * miss 2st, (1tr, 1ch), 4 times into next st, followed by 1tr into the same st, miss 2st, 1dc into next st, * rpt from * to * to last 2st, miss 1st, 1dc into last st. Fasten off. (11, open shell groups)

Brim – With RS facing, join colour 2 to starting chain edge (front of bonnet), make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each to end. Turn. (65dc)

Next Row – Working into BLO, make 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, miss 1dc, (1tr, 1ch), 4 times into next ch, followed by 1tr into the same dc, miss 2dc, 1dc into next dc, * miss 2dc, (1tr, 1ch), 4 times into next dc, followed by 1tr into the same dc, miss 2dc, 1dc into next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 2dc, miss 1dc, 1dc into last dc. Turn. (11, open shell groups)

1st Pattern Row – 4ch, * miss next tr, 1ch space and tr, work 1dc in next ch space, 3ch, miss 1tr, 1dc into next ch space, 1ch, miss 1tr, 1ch, 1tr, work (1tr, 1ch), 3 times into next dc, (making 3tr & three 1ch spaces altogether) * rpt from * to * to last dc, make 1ch, work 1tr into last dc. Turn.

2nd Pattern Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, miss 1ch, work * (1tr, 1ch), 4 times, plus 1tr into next 3ch space, miss 1ch, 1tr and 1ch, work 1dc in next tr, miss 1ch, 1tr and 1ch, * rpt from * to * to last 3ch space, work (1tr, 1ch) 4 times, 1tr all into 3ch space, 1dc in 3rd of 4ch. Turn. Fasten off.

With WS facing sew both sides of back panel to side panels.

Turn Brim back onto main part of bonnet (from where you worked into BLO)

Using colour 1 and starting with 3ch, work 1 row of tr stitch evenly along neck edge, catching the brim in as you go.

Tie – With colour 2 make 151ch, 1ss in second ch from hook, 1ss in each ch to end. Fasten off (150ss)

Finishing – Weave in and trim any loose ends of yarn, thread tie through alternate tr on neck edge and make a bow.
