Coat – Worked in one piece starting with yoke.
Using colour 1 make 55ch, 1tr into 4th ch from hook, 1tr into the next 6ch (front), 3tr into next ch, 1tr into next 8ch (shoulder), 3tr into next ch, 1tr into the next 17ch (back), 3tr into next ch, 1tr into the next 8ch. (shoulder), 3tr into next ch, 1tr into the next 8ch (front). Turn. (60tr + 3ch)
2nd Row – 3ch, 1tr into the next 8tr, 3tr into next tr, 1tr into next 10tr, 3tr into next tr, 1tr into the next 19tr, 3tr into next tr, 1tr into the next 10tr, 3tr into the next tr, 1tr into the next 8tr, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn. (68tr + 3ch)

Sleeves x 2 – With colour 1 and WS facing rejoin yarn into side of tr underarm where you divided for the armholes, 3ch, 1tr into side of tr, 1tr into each of next 22tr, 2tr into side of tr on opposite side of sleeve, ss to top of 3ch. Turn. (25tr + 3ch)
Next row – 3ch, miss 2tr, * (3tr, 1ch, 1tr) into next tr, miss 2tr, * rpt from * to * to last 2tr, (3tr, 1ch, 1tr) into next tr, miss 1tr, ss to top of 3ch. Turn. (8 groups)
Next Row – 3ch, * (3tr, 1ch, 1tr) into 1ch space on each shell group to end, ss to top of 3ch. Turn.
Rpt the last row five more times making 7 shell group rows in all. Fasten off.
Join in colour 2 and rpt last row once, 8 shell group rows have been worked in all from yoke. Turn.
Cuff
Next Row – (Dec) Join in colour 1, 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into next tr, miss 1ch space, 1dc into next 2tr, * dec 1dc (see abbrev) over next 2tr, miss 1ch space, 1dc into next 2tr, * rpt from * to * to last tr, 1dc into last tr, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn. (26dc)
Next Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc to end. Turn.
Rpt last row twice. Fasten off.
Front Edging
With colour 1, WS facing and starting at neck edge on right hand front, work 47dc evenly down right front to end. Turn.
Next Row – (Buttonholes) 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each dc up front edge to bottom of yoke, * 2ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into next 6dc, * rpt from * to * once, make 2ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into last dc. Turn. (3 Buttonholes)
Next Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each 2ch space and dc to end. Fasten off.
With WS facing join colour 1 to left hand side at bottom edge, working from lower edge upwards, work 47dc evenly along to neck edge. Turn.
Starting with 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, work two more rows in dc. Fasten off.
Collar – Join in colour 1 to first tr after buttonhole band on WS side of work, 3ch, * miss 2tr, (3tr, 1ch, 1tr) into next tr, * rpt from * to * to last 3tr, miss 2tr, 1tr into last tr. Turn. (16 shell groups)
Rpt Pattern Row from skirt twice. Fasten off.
Join in colour 2, rpt Pattern Row once. Fasten off.
Join in colour 1 and rpt Pattern Row once. Fasten off.
Finishing – Weave in and trim off any loose ends of yarn, sew on buttons to correspond with buttonholes. Fold back collar.
Ski Hat – With colour 1 make 71ch loosely, ss to first ch to form a ring, make 3ch, 1tr into each ch to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn (70tr + 3ch)
Starting each row with 3ch and slip stitching to top of 3ch on beginning of each row, work 11 more rows in tr stitch. Turn.
Next Row – 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, 1dc into each tr to end, ss to first dc. Turn. (71dc)
Brim – Working into the back loop of stitch only, work 3ch, miss 2dc, * (3tr, 1ch, 1tr) into next dc, miss 3dc, * rpt from * to * to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn. (17 shell groups)
Next Row – 3ch, (3tr, 1ch, 1tr) into 1ch space on each shell group to end, ss to top of 3ch on beginning of row. Turn.
Rpt last row once. Fasten off.
Join in colour 2 and rpt last row once. Fasten off.
Join in colour 1 and rpt last row once. Fasten off.
With WS facing, centre back seam, join colour 1 to right corner on starting chain edge, make 1ch, working through both sides, ss along top to close open edge, make 10ch, join with a ss to the 1ch made at the beginning of the row (the right corner) to make a loop. Fasten off.
Finishing – Weave in and trim off loose ends of yarn, turn through to RS. Fold brim onto front of hat, tuck in sides to form a triangle.
