200 grams of King Cole big value baby DK yarn in color 1
20 grams of King Cole big value baby DK in color 2

An equivalent yarn would be a Light Worsted #3

4.00mm  & 4.500mm Clover crochet hooks

3 medium buttons     ~~~~~     ribbon rosebuds

GAUGE – 5dc and 2.5 rows measures approx 1 Inch using 4.50mm hook

Baby Crochet Dress-Hat

Dress
Worked in one piece, starting with yoke. Using 4.50mm hook and color 1, ch55, 1dc in 4th ch from hook, 1dc in each ch to end. Turn. (52dc + ch3) 

2nd Row – (Inc Row) Working through back loop only until Commence Skirt ch3, 1dc in next dc, * 2dc in next dc, 1dc in each of the next 3dc, * rpt from * to * to last 2dc and ch3, 2dc in next dc, 1dc in last dc, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn. (65dc + ch3)

3rd Row – ch3, 1dc in each dc to end, 1dc in top of ch3. Fasten off. Turn. 

4th Row – (Inc Row) Join in color 2 with a sl st to first dc, ch3, 1dc in next dc, * 2dc in next dc, 1dc in each of the next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to end, 1dc in top of ch3. Fasten off. Turn. (86dc + ch3)

5th Row – Using color 1 rpt 3rd Row. Do not Fasten off.

6th Row – (Inc Row) ch3, 1dc in next dc, * 2dc in next dc, 1dc in each of the next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to end, 1dc in top of ch3. Fasten off. Turn. (114dc + ch3)

If you wish to make the skirt longer you can adjust length here by adding more rows.

Sleeves x 2
Working in back loop of stitch, with RS facing and 4.50mm hook, rejoin color 1 to same dc under arm were you divided for armhole, ch3, 1dc in each of next 2dc, * (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in next dc, 1dc in each of next 2dc, skip 2dc, 1dc in each of next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to last 4dc and side of dc underarm, (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in next dc, 1dc in each of next 2dc, skip last dc and side of dc underarm, sl st to top of ch3 at beginning of round. Fasten off. (5 groups)

Buttonhole/button Bands
With 4.50mm hook, color 1, RS facing and starting at lower back edge on right hand side of opening. Work 18sc evenly along to corner, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each ch around neck edge to next corner, 3sc in corner, 18sc evenly down back edge to end. Turn.

Next Row – ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc up back edge to corner. Turn. Rpt last row once. Fasten off.

Buttonhole Row
Return to first back edge, with WS facing and working from neck downwards ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * ch2, skip 1sc, 1sc in next 6sc, * rpt from * to * once, ch2, skip 1sc, 1sc in each of remaining sc. Turn.

Starting with ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work 1sc in each sc and ch2 space to end. Fasten off.

Finishing – Close small gap underarms, weave in any loose ends of yarn and trim, attach buttons to correspond with buttonholes, decorate with ribbon rosebud.

Bonnet – (Working in back loop of stitch throughout)
Using color 1 make a magic circle, with 4.00mm hook ch3, work 13dc in ring, pull loose thread to close circle, sl st to top of dc on beginning of row. (13dc + ch3)

Round 2 – ch3, 1dc in base of ch3, 2dc in each dc to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn. (27dc + ch3) 

Round 3 – ch3, 1dc in base of ch3, * 1dc in next dc, 2dc in next dc, * rpt from * to * to last dc, 1dc in last dc, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn. (41dc + ch3)

Round 4 – ch3, 1dc in base of ch3, * 1dc in each of next 2dc, 2dc in next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 2dc, 1dc in each of last 2dc, sl st to top of ch3. Turn. (55dc + ch3)

Round 5 – ch3, 1dc in base of ch3, * 1dc in each of next 3dc, 2dc in next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 3dc, 1dc in each of last 3dc, sl st to top of ch3. Turn. (69dc + ch3)

Rounds 6 – 14 – ch3, 1dc in each dc to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of row. Turn.
