Row 2 – (Inc) 3ch, 1tr into each of next 3tr, * 2tr into next tr, 1tr into each of the next 4tr, * rpt from * to * to last 4tr and 3ch, 2tr into next tr, 1tr into each of last 3tr, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn. (63tr + 3ch)
Row 3 – 3ch, 1tr into each tr to end, 1tr into top of 3ch. Turn.

Buttonhole Band – Return to first back edge and working from neck down with WS facing, join colour 1 to centre dc of 3dc on corner, 1ch, 1dc into base of 1ch, * make 2ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into each of next 6dc, * rpt from * to * twice more, make 2ch, miss 1dc, 1dc into remaining dc. Pull on Hat – Made in rounds without turning until Row 6
