Dress Top – Worked in one piece starting with yoke. Using 4.00mm hook ch55, 1dc in 4th ch from hook, 1dc in each ch to end. Turn. (52dc + ch3)
2nd Row – (Inc Row) ch3, 1dc in next dc, * 2dc in next dc, 1dc in each of the next 3dc, * rpt from * to * to last 2dc and ch3, 2dc in next dc, 1dc in last dc, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn. (65dc + ch3)
3rd Row – ch3, 1dc in each dc to end, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn.
4th Row – (Inc Row) ch3, 1dc in next dc, * 2dc in next dc, 1dc in each of the next 3dc, * rpt from * to * to last 3dc and ch3, 2dc in next dc, 1dc in each of next 2dc, 1dc in top of ch3. Turn. (81dc + ch3)
5th Row – as 3rd Row.

Pattern Row 2 – ch4, bpdc around next dc, * skip 2dc, 3dc in each of next 2dc, skip 2dc, bpdc around next dc, ch1, 1dc in next dc, ch1, bpdc around next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 7dc, skip 2dc, 3dc in each of next 2dc, skip 2dc, bpdc around next dc, ch1, sl st to 3rd of ch4 on beginning of row. Rpt Pattern Rows 1 & 2 until 19 rows have been worked or work measures approx 13.5 inches from shoulder.
Work Pattern Row 1 once. Fasten off.
Yoke Edge – With back of dress facing, return to loose loops on bottom of yoke, starting on left hand side, working in first loop ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, * skip 1 loop, 3dc in next loop, skip 1 loop, 1sc in next loop, * rpt from * to * around yoke (including dc’s on armholes) to end. Fasten off. Turn. (36, 3dc groups)
Button/Buttonhole Borders – Starting with RS facing on lower edge of right hand side of back opening, rejoin yarn to side of dc on the skirt, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work 20sc evenly up first back edge to corner, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each ch around neck to next corner, 3sc in corner, 20sc evenly down second back edge. Turn.
Buttonhole Row – ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc to corner, 3sc in corner, 1sc in sc around neck edge to next corner, 1sc in corner, * ch2, skip 1sc, 1sc in next 7sc * rpt from * to * once, ch2, skip 1sc, 1sc in remaining sc. Fasten off. Turn. (3 Buttonholes made)
Starting with ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, work 1sc in each sc and ch2 space to corner. Fasten off.
Return to first side of back opening and working from neck downwards ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each sc to end. Fasten off.
Finishing – Sew in and tie off any loose ends of yarn, sew on buttons to correspond with buttonholes, decorate with ribbon rosebud.
Hat – (Worked in rounds without turning throughout), Make magic circle, with 4.00mm hook make ch3, work 12dc in ring, pull loose thread to close circle, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of round. (12dc + ch3)
Round 2 – ch3, 1dc in base of ch3, 2dc in each dc to end, sl st to top of ch3. (25dc + ch3)
Round 3 – ch3, 1dc in base of ch3, * 1dc in next dc, 2dc in next dc, * rpt from * to * to last dc, 1dc in last dc, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of round. (38dc + ch3)
Round 4 – ch3, 1dc in next dc, 2dc in next dc, * 1dc in each of next 2dc, 2dc in next dc, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of round. (51dc + ch3)
Round 5 – ch3, 1dc in base of ch3, * 1dc in next 3dc, 2dc in next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 3dc, 1dc in each of last 3dc, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of round. (64dc + ch3)
